Biking from Angkor To Pakes (Laos ) Experiences an incredible cycling tour package of Cambodia and Laos beginning in Siem Reap. Kick start your tour with the incredible Angkor complex visiting all of the major temples in the Grand and Small circuits. Be awe-inspired by the fabulous Angkor Wat. Stroll around this incredible structure and its surrounding areas for terrific photo opportunities you will always treasure. Cruise along to Phnom Penh and visit major attractions around town. Visit local communities and sights as we make our way to the Laos border. See amazing rare Irrawady dolphins and incredible waterfalls surrounded by jungle. Visit Wat Phou, the pre-Angkorian temple complex as we make our way to our final destination of Pakse.
Day 1: Siem Reap – Arrival (welcome dinner)
Upon arrival at Siem Reap international airport meets and transfer by a local guide to the hotel for check-in (Early check-in is NOT included and subject to the hotel’s availability). Free at leisure until 06:30 pm, the welcome dinner will be provided at a local restaurant.

Day 2: Angkor temples biking

Breakfast at the hotel and today we leave the hotel early at 07:30 for biking to Angkor Archeological Park, stop to buy the Angkor Pass at the checkpoint, and then continue biking to visit Angkor Wat temple. After Angkor Wat, we ride our bikes through the small trails in the jungle to visit Banteay Kdei and Ta Prohm temples. After lunch at a local restaurant, after lunch, we continue to ride our bikes to Preah Khan temple through the jungle and quiet temple of Ta Nei. Stop for snacks in Angkor Thom city near the toilet and visit Bayon temple before returning to the hotel.

Day 3: Outlying temples biking

Breakfast at the hotel, today we ride our bikes through the countryside, small villages, and rice paddies, and first stop to visit the Banteay Samre temple, then continue further to the north and stop for snacks after 20km biking in a local wooden house. We continue to ride the bikes through the countryside scenery to stop for lunch in a local house and then we proceed to visit Banteay Srey temple, on the way back to Siem Reap we visit the land mine museum.

Day 4: Biking to Tonle Sap Lake – Optional for Kayaking

Breakfast at the hotel, today we started riding the bikes along a small channel to Tonle Sap Lake and it is a chance for us to learn and make a comparison between Siem Reap irrigation system in Angkor Period and today. After snacks at the local pagoda, we continue biking to Tonle Sap Lake where we will embark on a local wooden boat to visit the floating villages. Lunch will be provided at the local floating house (After lunch, kayaking is available in the village. If you wish to do it optionally, it will cost USD12/pax for a single and USD8/pax for a twin). And transferred back to the pier to ride our bikes back to Siem Reap on the different roads through the rice paddies and Khmer traditional houses

Day 5: Siem Reap – Kampong Thom

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we begin with a transfer of 2 hours to visit 12 century Naga bridge in Kampong Kdei. After Kampong Kdei, we drop off and start cycling from the junction to visit pre-Angkorian temples in Sambor Prei Kuk (615-650). Sambor Prei Kuk served as the capital before the Angkor period during the Chenla Kingdom. Enjoy packed lunch under the shade of the big trees and relax on the mat. After lunch cycle to Kampong Thom town. It is the less visited town with just a stopover for the tourists who travel between Phnom Penh to Siem Reap as it is halfway.

Day 6: Kampong Thom – Kampong Cham

After breakfast, transferred 40 minutes to Kampong Thmor where we started cycling on the quiet road passing the rubber plantation to Kampong Cham, the 3rd biggest province in Cambodia. It depends mainly on farming, big production of the fruit such as banana, jack fruit, tobacco, and rubber plantation. Visit Phnom Pros and Phnom Srey and enjoy the picnic lunch from the hilltop pagoda. Afternoon, arrive in Kampong Cham and wander around to see the town (optional biking to the nearby Koh Pen island). Situated on the Mekong River, Kampong Cham has a great benefit of the delta to do the farming.

Day 7: Kampong Cham – Kratie

After breakfast, cycle to visit Phnom Han Chey. There are some graves of the victims from the Khmer Rouge regime besides the hill of Phnom Han Chey. Enjoy the water stop, local fruit, snack, and drink. Then we board the local ferry to cross the Mekong river at Steung Trong. This area used to be the Khmer Rouge headquarters in the early 1970s before they took control of Phnom Penh in April 1975. Lunch and relax in the big shade of the tree. Afternoon, we continue cycling along with this fantastic view of the Mekong river. Then we transfer the van to Kratie. If time permits, we board the boat and head to see the endangered Irrawady dolphin.

Day 8: Kratie – Stung Treng

Breakfast in Kratie. Fill the water and be prepared on the bike. We cycle to visit Wat Sarsar Moy Roy. After the water stop, we turn back to the main road. Then we cycle a single line, watching out for the traffic as cars and trucks are coming and going. Enjoy packed lunch in the big shade of the tree and relax on the mat. Afternoon we, cycle to complete our 90km, then we transfer by van to Stung Treng. The specialty of local food in Stung Treng is Ngem, the fresh fish wrapped in banana leaves.

Day 9: Stung Treng – Laos border – Don Daet

After breakfast, today we cycle to the Laos border. We visit the Ou Svay community. Lunch with a local family to experience rural Cambodia at its most authentic. After lunch, we cycle to the border for the immigration process and say goodbye to our Cambodian driver who followed us in the supported van. Continue to cycle to visit a waterfall and enjoy swimming and visit the French death railways. If time permits, visit the Irrawady dolphin.

Day 10: Don Daet – 4000 islands

Breakfast in Don Daet. Today, we cycle to visit 4 Thousand Islands known as Si Phan Don in Laos. The 4 Thousand Islands are situated on the Mekong River including Don Som island take the ferry to Don Khong island where we have lunch. After lunch, we cycle another 10km on a dirt road to Xe Pian National Biodiversity & Conservation. Then cycle 3km up on the downhill to visit Phu Asa temple and enjoy the sunset.

Day 11: Xe Pian National Biodiversity and Conservation Center

Breakfast at the lodge to enjoy the birdlife. We fill in the water and be ready to get on the bike to cycle from Xe Pian Biodiversity Conservation Center located near the Cambodia border to Rattanakiri province. After the 10km on a dirt road, we transfer for 1 hour on the main road to start cycling on a quiet road to Ban Muang where we cross a ferry to cycle to Wat Phou located on the foot of Champasak hill built by great Khmer King Jayavarman VII in the 12th century. After the visit, we cycle 10km back to the lodge located along the Mekong river.
